Cambodia stone carving sculpture
We arrived in Siem Reap, a town near the ancient city of Angkor. Within the ancient city is Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a large pyramid temple, built AD 1113-1150. It's surrounded by a great moat 570 feet wide. There are bas-relief carvings throughout the temple. We explored Tonle Sap Lake, largest freshwater lake in SE Asia. We saw the 'river people' who live in floating fishing villages.
At the end of the trip we went to the Killing Fields Memorial Temple. It commemorates the 1.7 million victims of the 1975-79 Pol Pot genocide.
