Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
We arrived in the capital of Hanoi. One of our first visits was to the Hoa Lo Prison, known to US POW's as the 'Hanoi Hilton'. The French colonists built the prison to hold political prisoners. Later the North Vietnamese housed POW's. It's most famous 'guest' was US Senator John McCain when he was a young navy pilot.
We went to Ho Chi Minh Square, where, the body of Ho lies in the mausoleum. At the end of the trip we went to Halong Bay for a few days of site-seeing.
