Huge Buddha on the Mekong river near the 'Golden Triangle'.

I returned to Thailand after 41 years. Back in 1965-67, I was with the US Army  stationed in Bangkok. I didn't spend much time away from the city back then. This trip afforded me the opportunity to explore more regions of the country.  Surprisingly, the little Thai language I learned those many years ago, came back to me. It made the trip even more enjoyable.

After enjoying the sites of the city we went to the countryside to see the Mae Salong hill tribe. We also traveled to the Bridge Over the River Kwai and Hell Fire Pass, the infamous Thai-Burma rail line built during WWII.
