ADULTHOOD

Bronie and Pat left their care-free youth behind and pursued higher education.  After nurses training Bronie moved to San Francisco to work at the Marine Hospital. After college Pat joined the Navy Civilian Volunteer Force in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. World War II was looming.

In October 1940 they married and their life as a couple and as parents began.  They relocated to the state of Washington to work at the Hanford Project. Bronie continued her nursing career until she decided to spend full-time at home with their children.  Pat became a fireman and like his father, a fire-chief.
