Machu Picchu revisited.  My first trip was in March of 2007.  This time it was more of an educational experience than an impressionable one.

Machu Picchu is the most popular of the Inca ruins.  Constructed around 1430 AD, it was abandoned at the time of the Spanish conquest.  The American explorer/historian Hiram Bingham rediscovered it in 1911.  The site is located on a mountain ridge above the Urubamba Valley (Peru) at 8000 ft. above sea level.
